Softball Preview: Palmview Lobos vs. Nixon Mustangs

Palmview is 3-0 against Nixon since March of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Palmview Lobos are on the road again to play the Nixon Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Palmview scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They never let Juarez-Lincoln onto the board and left with a 22-0 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded Palmview with their most commanding win of the season.

Arianna Alaniz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Alaniz has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in ten consecutive pitching appearances. Alaniz was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Palmview got a massive performance out of Marina Rodriguez, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Eissa Flores, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.
