The power rankings welcomes a newcomer to the scene as Glenwood earned the 25th spot after its strong showing last week. It can thank its lucky stars for its win over Kuemper. The final score was a hard-fought 14 - 13. The result was just as the MaxPreps state rankings suggested, although the scoreline definitely wasn't as one-sided as expected.
This Week's Big Showdown
The showdown between Dowling Catholic (3rd in the power rankings) and Johnston (19th) shaped up to be more of a takedown. Dowling Catholic kept its opponent Johnston off the scoreboard entirely, winning the match 27 - 0. The victory raised Dowling Catholic up two spots in the power rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
The match between PCM and Roland-Story last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 68 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. Everything went PCM's way against Roland-Story as it secured a 54 - 14 win. The victory boosted PCM a satisfying ten spots in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Sergeant Bluff-Luton (9th in the power rankings) and Rock Valley/Boyden-Hull (4th). The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
