Baseball Game Preview: Bentley Phoenix vs. Cornerstone Christian Cougars

For the second straight game, Bentley will face off against Cornerstone Christian. The Phoenix will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bentley took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Cornerstone Christian with a sharp 16-4 win. The Phoenix might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Braden Owen was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. Bentley is undefeated when Owen posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Rachuba, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Bentley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cornerstone Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
