Soccer Game Preview: Westside vs. Emerald

The Westside Rams will head out to square off against the Emerald Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

If Emerald heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Westside took over last week. The Rams were the clear victors by a 6-3 margin over Abbeville on Tuesday. It was an even better day for Elisa Sanchez as she scored five goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Emerald kept a clean sheet against Southside last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-0 victory. That's two games straight that Emerald have won by exactly ten goals.

Emerald is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those four matchups. As for Westside, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Westside might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Emerald when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
