Basketball Game Preview: Ellenville Blue Devils vs. Rhinebeck Hawks

The Ellenville Blue Devils will challenge the Rhinebeck Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellenville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Rhinebeck likes a good challenge.

If Ellenville beats Rhinebeck with 57 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Ellenville pulled ahead with a 57-56 photo finish over Onteora on Friday.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Rhinebeck's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Academy. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 458th, while the Eagles are ranked 211th).

Ellenville's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Rhinebeck, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 7-4.

Ellenville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Rhinebeck in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 61-55 victory.
