Basketball Recap: Gardendale Comes Up Short

Gardendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Oak Mountain Eagles, falling 83-58. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Eagles are ranked sixth).

Gardendale's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Oak Mountain, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gardendale will take on Athens in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Mountain and Hueytown will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
