Mesa was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Skyline Coyotes 5-3. This was payback for the Jackrabbits, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mesa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Goodman, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Mesa's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-16. As for Skyline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-1 loss against San Luis on the 15th. Hopefully Skyline paid attention to the Jackrabbits' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Jackrabbits at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
