Basketball Recap: Nature Coast Tech Comes Up Short

If Nature Coast Tech was feeling good fresh off their 81-57 takedown of Weeki Wachee last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nature Coast Tech Sharks took a 43-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Springstead Eagles on Friday. The match marked the Sharks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Springstead's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Sayre led the charge by putting up 16 points. Alejandro Arenas was another key player, scoring two points and 13 rebounds.

Nature Coast Tech's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Springstead, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

Nature Coast Tech will be playing in front of their home fans against Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hernando is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season. As for Springstead, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wesley Chapel at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
