Preview: Vista PEAK Prep Bison vs. Centaurus Warriors
After five games on the road, Vista PEAK Prep is heading back home. They will take on the Centaurus Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vista PEAK Prep will be strutting in after a victory while Centaurus will be coming in after a loss.
Vista PEAK Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 30 points or more this season. They breezed by Erie on the road to the tune of 69-36.
Vista PEAK Prep had a senior duo take command as Kyree Polk scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds and Alante Monroe-elazier scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. The match was Monroe-elazier's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Brown III, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Centaurus suffered a tough 62-42 defeat at the hands of Arvada West on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Centaurus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Arvada West is ranked 44th).
The losses dropped Vista PEAK Prep to 4-1 and Erie to 1-3.
Vista PEAK Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Centaurus in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 60-49. Will Vista PEAK Prep repeat their success, or does Centaurus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
