Baseball Recap: Lake View's Run of Six Straight Wins Now Over

Lake View dropped their record down to 15-4 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They lost 10-0 to the Lane Tech Champions. The game marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

As for Lane Tech, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 22-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

For Lane Tech's part, Dodger Friedrich looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Friedrich has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Henry Murray, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Conor Sullivan, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Coming up, Lake View will challenge Amundsen at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Lane Tech, they will welcome Kenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Champions have won six straight at home, while the Broncos won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
