Baseball Game Preview: Poly Parrots vs. San Fernando Tigers

For the second straight game, Poly will face off against San Fernando. The Parrots will head out to take on the Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Poly's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so San Fernando's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Thursday, it was close, but Poly sidestepped San Fernando for a 4-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Parrots in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

For San Fernando's part, Alex Torres put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Torres has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Torres wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rommeml Molina, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for San Fernando and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Poly, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
