Basketball Recap: Everton Takes a Loss

Everton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 31st straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 74-27 loss at the hands of the Dadeville Bearcats. The Tigers were probably out for revenge after losing 80-26 to them when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Everton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Joshua Daniels posted 15 points along with eight boards and four steals. That was a full 55.6% of Everton's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Everton's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Dadeville, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everton will venture away from home to take on New Covenant Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dadeville, they will head out on the road to square off against Golden City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
