Baseball Game Preview: Culver City Centaurs vs. Beverly Hills Normans

For the second straight game, Culver City will face off against Beverly Hills. The Centaurs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Normans at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Culver City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Culver City's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Beverly Hills 7-0. The win continues a trend for the Centaurs in their matchups with the Normans: they've now won five in a row.

Anthony Yepez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Devin Asamura-Halll was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Axel Anderson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Culver City hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beverly Hills struck out 11 times.

Beverly Hills' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-9-1. As for Culver City, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Culver City has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Beverly Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts.
