Basketball Game Preview: Princeton Bulldogs vs. Beddingfield Bruins

The Princeton Bulldogs will face off against the Beddingfield Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Princeton is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 98-60 defeat at the hands of Eastern Wayne. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 581st, while the Warriors are ranked 186th).

Princeton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Teo McPhatter, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists, and Garrett Lane, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 22 points. Evan Pate was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten boards and four blocks.

Even though they lost, Princeton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Beddingfield came up short against Goldsboro on Friday and fell 68-59. The defeat continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Princeton came up short against Beddingfield when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 65-56. Can Princeton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
