Volleyball Recap: Burlington's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Burlington had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Wilmington on Thursday. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats. The win was nothing new for the Red Devils as they're now sitting on three straight.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Burlington took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-8, 25-9.

Abigail Seaman paced Burlington's offense, picking up four kills. Seaman got some help from Ula Rinkeviciute and her 15 assists. Rinkeviciute was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 13 aces.

Burlington's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Wilmington, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Burlington will take on rival Stoneham at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wilmington is set to square off against their familiar foe Wakefield Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
