Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Hilton Head Christian Academy's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

There's no place like home for Hilton Head Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Augusta Christian Lions on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Anthony Seminara made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Seminara was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Hilton Head Christian Academy let Slaide Burd and Roman Colella run wild. Burd went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Colella got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Hilton Head Christian Academy is 11-1 when Burd posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Stone Burd was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Hilton Head Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Augusta Christian only posted an OBP of .296.

Hilton Head Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Augusta Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-18.
