Basketball Game Preview: Grady Bronchos vs. Logan Longhorns

Grady hasn't had much luck against Logan recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Grady Bronchos will challenge the Logan Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Grady came up short against Gateway Christian and fell 54-45.

The losing side was boosted by Jai Padilla, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Logan played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 91-59 loss at the hands of Texline. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Longhorns came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 19th in New Mexico, while the Tornadoes are ranked 310th in Texas).

Grady will need focus on slowing down Mason Wallin, one of several Logan players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Wallin has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aydin Kotara, who went 6 for 10 en route to 14 points.

Grady's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for Logan, their loss dropped their record down to 16-2.

Grady might still be hurting after the 74-50 defeat they got from Logan in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Logan's Hayden Bruhn, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Now that Grady knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
