            Baseball Recap: Valley Christian Warriors vs. Soquel Knights        
        
		
        
        
            With a playoff win on the line, Valley Christian rose to the challenge  on Saturday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Soquel Knights  3-2. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the   1-0 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in May of 2015.

 Brock Ketelsen made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  struck out six batters over  4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with two  runs.
 In other pitching news,  Rohan Kasanagottu looked comfortable as he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in seven consecutive appearances.
 Ketelsen wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jordan Ortiz, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with two  RBI.
Valley Christian is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6-1 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Soquel, their loss  ended  a  13-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 25-2.
