Recap: San Benito Greyhounds vs. Hanna Golden Eagles
The San Benito Greyhounds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 58-39 bruising from Hanna. While losing is never fun, San Benito can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1107th, while Hanna is ranked 481st).
Hanna's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Beto Galarza led the charge by scoring 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Matamoros, who scored 15 points.
San Benito dropped their record down to 5-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Hanna, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Harlingen the next time they take the court. Hanna will host Harlingen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while San Benito will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
