Game recap: Bogue Chitto High School Football Team wins against Lumberton

LUMBERTON, Miss. - Bogue Chitto (Miss.) saw its 11-point lead dwindle to five, but still managed to hang on and defeat Lumberton (Miss.) 17-12 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a field goal by Cameron Price in the first quarter, the Bobcats were up 17-6 at the half.

Bogue Chitto saw its 11-point halftime lead fall to five entering the fourth.

The loss snapped Lumberton's four-game winning streak.

BC came in allowing an average of 20.8 points per game this season. The defense really stepped up, holding the Panthers well below their season average of 22.0 points scored per game.



The defeat comes as a step back for Lumberton, which notched a 20-19 victory over Cathedral in its previous outing.

Lumberton (4-3) will play a 1A Region 4 game against Stringer next week, while Bogue Chitto (7-0) will take on Resurrection Catholic also in a 1A Region 4 game.
