Basketball Recap: Sequatchie County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sequatchie County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Monday, dropping them down to 0-5. They had to suffer through a 74-21 loss at the hands of the Van Buren County Eagles. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Sequatchie County lost, don't look at Grace Kelly. Despite the final result, she posted nine points and three steals. Kelly is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Autumn Harvey also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

As for Van Buren County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 28 points or more this season.

Abigial Netherton had another great game (as she tends to do), going 11-for-14 to rack up 26 points in addition to five assists and five boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Grissom, who scored seven points along with seven assists and four steals.

Sequatchie County has already played their next contest (against Monterey), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Van Buren County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-65 loss against Coalfield on the 9th.
