            Baseball Recap: Escambia Gators vs. Choctawhatchee Indians        
        
		
        
        
            While Escambia's  victory against Choctawhatchee wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Escambia had just enough and edged out Choctawhatchee  9-8. The  win continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.
 Clayton Sanders made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  6.1 innings while giving up  four earned  (and four unearned) runs off   seven  hits (and only one walk). What's more,  he gave up only one  walk, the fewest he's  had since March 6th. He was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since March 5th.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Christian Stone, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 1-for-4. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.  Colin Hanks was another key player,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Escambia  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Choctawhatchee only posted  an  OBP of  .281.
Escambia's record now sits at 15-5. As for Choctawhatchee,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 10-8.
 Coming up, Escambia will head out to  challenge Navarre  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Choctawhatchee, they will be playing at home against Hopkinsville  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
