Basketball Recap: Midd-West Takes a Loss

Midd-West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 49-19 loss at the hands of the Shikellamy Braves. The Mustangs were down 39-14 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why Midd-West lost, don't look at Chase Shattuck. Despite the final result, he posted five points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave Shattuck a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabe Romig, who scored eight points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Midd-West's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Shikellamy, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.

Midd-West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-47 loss against Selinsgrove on the 24th. As for Shikellamy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-26 defeat against Shamokin Area on the 24th.
