Basketball Recap: Weir Takes a Loss

Weir lost against Oak Glen back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Weir Red Riders took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oak Glen Golden Bears. The Red Riders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kensington McConnachie had a dynamite game for Oak Glen, going 7-for-12 on her way to 21 points and three steals. What's more, McConnachie also posted a 63% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Haylee Clark, who posted ten points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Oak Glen, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.

Weir has already played their next matchup (against Brooke), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Oak Glen, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-44 loss against St. Marys on the 18th.
