Football Recap: Arman Papazyan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Glendale over Burroughs

Glendale played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Burroughs Bears, falling 34-12. The Nitros haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Glendale lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Arman Papazyan, who rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Elijah Venegas, who threw for 198 yards and one TD.

Brandon Chapparo had an outrageously good game for Burroughs as he rushed for 125 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries, and also threw for 132 yards and one touchdown. Chapparo has become a key player for the Bears: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. Sho Fujita was another key player, gaining 148 total yards and a touchdown.

Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Burroughs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Glendale wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 42-34 loss against Crescenta Valley on the 10th. As for Burroughs, they have also already played their next game, a 21-10 victory against Hoover on the 10th.
