Basketball Recap: Rumson-Fair Haven Comes Up Short

Rumson-Fair Haven lost against Red Bank Catholic back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs were dealt a 66-37 defeat at the hands of the Red Bank Catholic Caseys. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Caseys are ranked third).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Bank Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tessa Carman, who posted 13 points and three steals. Christina Liggio was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and three steals.

Rumson-Fair Haven has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Red Bank Catholic, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Rumson-Fair Haven wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-38 win against Shore Regional on the 1st. As for Red Bank Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-40 victory against Gloucester Catholic on the 31st.
