Basketball Game Preview: Cooper Cougars vs. Granbury Pirates

The Cooper Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Granbury Pirates at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Friday, Cooper came up short against Lubbock-Cooper and fell 46-35. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 800th, while the Pirates are ranked 290th).

Meanwhile, Granbury had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Richland by a score of 61-49 on Monday.

Granbury's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Cooper, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Cooper was dealt a bruising 97-61 loss at the hands of Granbury in their previous meeting back in November of 2017. Can Cooper avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
