The Willow Canyon Wildcats will challenge the Canyon View Jaguars at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Willow Canyon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Willow Canyon got the win against Lake Havasu by a conclusive 13-2. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won seven in a row.
Lucy Burroughs looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mataya Olson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Ray, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Willow Canyon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Canyon View faced Verrado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Jaguars came out on top against the Vipers by a score of 7-2. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Emily Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Canyon View got a massive performance out of Anya Inzauro, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Inzauro also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sedona Hernandez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
Willow Canyon's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-7-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Canyon View, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.
