Hutchinson had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 9-8 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the South Cougars. This was a revenge game for the Salthawks: when they faced off against the Cougars on Friday, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

As for South, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-6. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 12, 2022, but that streak is no more.

For South's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Stauffer, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hutchinson will face off against Salina Central on Tuesday. As for South, they will challenge Valley Center at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
