Softball Game Preview: Rockwall-Heath Hawks vs. Royse City Bulldogs

The Rockwall-Heath Hawks will challenge the Royse City Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockwall-Heath is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Rockwall-Heath took on North Forney on Friday. The Hawks came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 9-6.

Taylor Scott and Jada Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Scott scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Williams went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Scott a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Moore, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Rockwall-Heath hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Forney struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Royse City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Tyler Legacy on Saturday as they made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won 16 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Royse City pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Rockwall-Heath, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.
