Preview: South Fayette Lions vs. Montour Spartans
The South Fayette Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Montour Spartans at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Montour took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on South Fayette, who comes in off a win.
South Fayette had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 74-56 win over Canon-McMillan. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Montour came up short against Taylor Allderdice on Friday and fell 59-51. Montour has struggled against Taylor Allderdice recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
South Fayette's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Montour, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
South Fayette was able to grind out a solid victory over Montour when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 52-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Fayette since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
