Volleyball Recap: Silver Creek Extends Winning Streak to Three

Silver Creek entered their tilt with Madison on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Cubs. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win last Saturday.

Silver Creek was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (98-95), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 16-25, 14-25, 25-15, 15-10.

Franz Basener paced Silver Creek's offense, picking up 19 kills. Basener got some help from Napoleon Lankford and his 31 assists. Basener was also solid from the service line: he led the team with eight aces.

Silver Creek pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Creek will host Jeffersonville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Madison, they will challenge Greenwood Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
