Baseball Recap: Berlin Victorious

Berlin won the last time they faced Nekoosa and things went their way on Thursday too. The Indians came out on top against the Papermakers by a score of 9-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Royce Lichtenberg was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mitchell Lundt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Toby Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Berlin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Berlin's record now sits at 3-1. As for Nekoosa, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
