Softball Recap: Ligonier Valley's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

On Tuesday, the Ligonier Valley Rams didn't have quite enough to beat the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs and fell 2-1.

Ligonier Valley's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ligonier Valley will head out to face off against Greensburg Salem at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they are taking a road trip to square off against Tussey Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give Claysburg-Kimmel their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
