Softball Preview: Pawnee Indians vs. Central A & M Raiders

The Pawnee Indians will challenge the Central A & M Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Pawnee was able to grind out a solid win over Greenfield/Northwestern, taking the game 12-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Meanwhile, Central A & M put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Arcola as Central A & M made off with a 7-1 victory.

Callie Robertson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Brookelyn Jackson and Gwyn Hardimon did most of the damage at the plate: Jackson went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Hardimon scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Hardimon has posted since back in March of 2024. Holly Paradee was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Central A & M kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Central A & M's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pawnee, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
