Softball Recap: Randleman Beats Wheatmore for Their Seventh Straight Win

Randleman had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They came out on top against the Wheatmore Warriors by a score of 6-3. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Addyson Dees was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Teanna Bostick, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kadie Green, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Randleman's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wheatmore, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Randleman Tigers face off against Southwestern Randolph Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Randleman's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Southwestern Randolph's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wheatmore, they will challenge East Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wheatmore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
