Football Recap: Herndon Hornets vs. Washington-Liberty Generals
Herndon had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it six. They took a 21-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Washington-Liberty Generals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 28-18 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
As for Washington-Liberty, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games.
Washington-Liberty's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jasper Dennis led the charge by rushing for 95 yards and one TD. Those 95 rushing yards gave Dennis a new career-high.
