Basketball Recap: Armuchee Comes Up Short

Armuchee suffered their biggest defeat since November 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Christian Heritage Lions, falling 86-40. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-31 on January 3rd.

Trenton Cothran was Armuchee's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Will Pethel took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Armuchee is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Christian Heritage, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Armuchee will face off against Chattooga at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Armuchee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season. As for Christian Heritage, they will challenge Coosa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Coosa: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Christian Heritage has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road.
