Placer had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Yuba City on Tuesday. The Hillmen blew past the Honkers 3-0. This was a revenge game for the Hillmen: when they faced off against the Honkers back in September, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Placer not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Yuba City between 17 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-17.

Esme Ledbetter paced Placer's offense, picking up 13 kills. Ledbetter got some help from Kayli Sellers and her 17 assists. Liv Duchaine controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Placer's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Yuba City, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
