Softball Recap: West Prairie Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Prairie's offense. They came up short against the Illini West Chargers on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cyclones of the 8-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

West Prairie saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

West Prairie is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Illini West, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Prairie will square off against Camp Point Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Illini West, they will face off against Cuba/Spoon River Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
