Basketball Recap: Eugene's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

On SaturdayChillicothe kept up with Eugene until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. The Eugene Eagles were the clear victor by a 66-45 margin over the Chillicothe Hornets. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Jaishon White and Sol'Jier Allen certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. White almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, while Allen posted 12 points and seven boards. White has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenyen Gannan, who earned six points and seven rebounds.

Eugene pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Chillicothe, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Eugene and Chillicothe should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Eugene will take on Tipton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 401 places (15 vs. 416). Meanwhile, Chillicothe (ranked 143rd) will meet Penney (ranked 349th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
