Soccer Game Preview: Caroline vs. Spotsylvania

Caroline hasn't had much luck against Spotsylvania recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cavaliers will take on the Knights at 6:45 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Caroline can't be too happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season away from home back in March. They lost 5-1 to Courtland. Ariya Bolden was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Meanwhile, Spotsylvania fell victim to Culpeper County and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 6-0. The loss continues a trend for Spotsylvania in their meetings with Culpeper County: they've now lost eight in a row.

Caroline took their win against Spotsylvania in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-1 score. In that contest, the Cavaliers amassed a halftime lead of 8-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
