Basketball Recap: Somerset College Prep Academy Skates Past Avon Park with Ease

On Thursday, the Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans took their matchup with ease, bagging a 65-19 win over the Avon Park Red Devils. With the Spartans ahead 38-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Somerset College Prep Academy found their leader in sophomore Khloe Rodgers, who dropped a double-double on 40 points and 12 steals. Rodgers' evening made it 16 games in a row in which she has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was London Rolle, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards.

Somerset College Prep Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Avon Park only posted one assist.

Despite the loss, Avon Park still got an impressive performance from Jaymara Jackson, who posted 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Hannah Hodges also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Somerset College Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Avon Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.
