Baseball Game Preview: Weir Red Riders vs. Edison Wildcats

The Weir Red Riders will take on the Edison Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edison took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Weir, who comes in off a win.

Weir barely beat Berkeley Springs the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Riders came out on top against the Indians on Friday by a score of 13-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Considering the Red Riders have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Edison was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They fell just short of Minerva by a score of 4-2. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Edison's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Weir, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-7.

Weir beat Edison 7-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Red Riders repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
