Football Game Preview: Pleasant Valley Raiders vs. Winston County Yellowjackets + Official Tickets

The Pleasant Valley Raiders will face off against the Winston County Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pleasant Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last six contests.

Last Friday, Pleasant Valley took their matchup with ease, bagging a 45-7 win over Section. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 27 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Braxton Salster, who rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 134 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (152.1). Cooper Dougal was another key player, picking up 65 receiving yards and one score.

Pleasant Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dougal and Jaden Sparks. Dougal also hauled in a receiving touchdown, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Winston County played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 42-14 defeat at the hands of Falkville. The matchup marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Pleasant Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.0 points on average over those games. As for Winston County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
