Waggener waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Southern Trojans with a sharp 29-19 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 26-3 win back in March.

Cassandra Stum was a standout: she scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Audrey Hudson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Waggener's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Southern, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waggener will host Highlands Latin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southern, they will take on Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
