Soccer Game Preview: Proctor vs. Arlington Memorial

The Proctor Phantoms are taking a road trip to square off against the Arlington Memorial Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Proctor is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: West Rutland, who was ranked 25th at the time (Proctor was ranked 19th). The Phantoms fell just short of the Golden Horde by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. Proctor's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Arlington Memorial made sure to put some goals up on the board against Leland & Gray on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Rebels. Considering Arlington Memorial have won three matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Proctor's loss dropped their record down to 6-3-1. As for Arlington Memorial, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1-2.

Proctor couldn't quite get it done against Arlington Memorial in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Phantoms avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
