Basketball Recap: Mt. Carmel Snags 16th Win in Last 17 Games

Mt. Carmel had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Phillips Wildcats by a score of 50-38 on Friday.

Mt. Carmel was led to victory by Maycee Randall and Madison Stevens. Randall dropped a double-double with 22 points and 18 rebounds, while Stevens went 5-for-7 to rack up 15 points and eight boards. That's the most points Randall has posted since back in December of 2024. Alivia Peach was another key player, putting up five points and five boards.

Mt. Carmel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches.

Mt. Carmel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-5 record this season. Phillips' defeat dropped their record down to 26-11.

As of now, neither Mt. Carmel nor Phillips have any future games scheduled.
