Basketball Game Preview: Moreno Valley Vikings vs. Liberty Bison

The Moreno Valley Vikings will face off against the Liberty Bison at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Moreno Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season.

Moreno Valley is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Norte Vista just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while the Braves are ranked 232nd).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Zyetice Hayes, who posted 11 points and four steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kordell Mackey, who earned ten points.

Meanwhile, Liberty sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-44 win over Palm Springs back in December of 2024.

Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Moreno Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
