Baseball Recap: Hilliard Comes Up Short

Hilliard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Atlantic Coast Stingrays. The Red Flashes were not able to make up for their loss to the Stingrays from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Conner Bayless made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Hilliard's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Atlantic Coast, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Hilliard will face off against St. John Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give Hilliard their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Atlantic Coast, they will challenge Sandalwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sandalwood's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Atlantic Coast's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
